Eligibility conditions and length of stay

Eligibility conditions

The University of Liège offers its students the opportunity to go abroad.

Students wishing to go on an international mobility programme (either for a study period or an internship) should first contact the Erasmus coordinator to find out about the conditions and selection procedure of the faculty. All applications for mobility must be approved by the faculties.

To be able to participate in an exchange programme and be exempt from paying registration fees in the host establishment, students must be regularly registered full time at the University of Liège and must have paid the registration fees.

During the stay, students retain the status of student at the University of Liège and continue to receive any grant or loan normally issued by the national authorities, family allowances, etc.

Length of stay

  • Minimum 2 consecutive months and maximum 12 months per study cycle.
  • A virtual component can be added before or after the physical mobility. It counts for the calculation of ECTS credits but not for the calculation of the mobility grant.

This 12-month quota applies to study mobility and internship together. This quota is calculated only on physical mobility (not on the possible virtual component).

The duration, period and type of mobility may vary for each faculty. Students should check the conditions of their faculty.
