Stimulants, dopants and drugs are either prohibited by law or subject to strict regulation. And not without good reason: the risks are considerable.

Stimulants are anti-fatigue products or, more accurately, products that artificially suppress the sensation of fatigue. Sometimes, they also improve mood and self-confidence. But they only work for a very short time.

The problem is that fatigue remains, even if it's no longer felt. Then, sometimes, the body cracks: it's a crash, a total exhaustion from which it will be very difficult to recover!

Improving self-confidence with this type of product also has perverse effects: you're sure of what you say or do, but the number of mistakes you make is significantly higher.

As for the improvement in mental performance, this has only been demonstrated by scientists for very simple mental tasks, and preparing for an exam is far from being a very simple mental task!

Undesirable effects

Stimulants such as amphetamines and amphetamine derivatives have long been prescribed to patients on weight-loss diets. They are now prohibited.

A number of serious side-effects, ranging from euphoria to so-called amphetamine psychosis (paranoid feelings and delirium), have been observed in slightly fragile or fragile individuals. Some people, even with a low dose, have completely "lost it", while others suffer from confusion, agitation and loss of reference points in space and time. High doses almost always lead to depression.

On the other hand, the crash is very frequent and very serious. The body has accumulated so much fatigue (without feeling it) that it cracks at some point.

Some of these products have been shown to significantly increase the risk of cerebral hemorrhage, especially in combination with other chemical substances. Without going that far, many people complain of headaches, dizziness, palpitations and insomnia,…

Another thing you need to know is that stimulants disrupt sleep: even after you stop taking them, it often takes several weeks or even months for the disturbances to cease and your sleep to return to normal

Some drugs, like cocaine, also have undeniable stimulating effects. But using them is extremely dangerous! In addition to all the problems associated with drugs in general, cocaine is also responsible for cardiac arrhythmias, epileptic seizures and myocardial infarctions, even in young people without major atherosclerosis!
