The illusion of control is an overestimation of the probability of personal success in relation to what objective probability guarantees. Excessive gamblers overestimate their chances of winning. He therefore believes he can influence the outcome of the game through his skill, experience and observations. He relies on superstitions, calculations and statistics. When he wins, he feels proud of it, convinced that he deserves the credit.
