Activity and the production of work tools (notes, summaries, diagrams, etc.) are essential for a personal appropriation of the subject. However, this is not enough: our actions must be useful and in line with our memories. The left hemisphere generally processes verbal information in a sequential, linear fashion, while the right hemisphere prefers to work in space, with images and visual effects. A text, or even a classic mathematical demonstration, will mainly involve the left hemisphere. On the other hand, a well-structured note, a diagram or a table... will call upon both hemispheres through their specificities.
