Passif Active or passive smoking? It has now been clearly demonstrated that involuntary inhalation of tobacco smoke can cause serious pathologies, including lung cancer. The dangers of passive smoking to health and life are real and considerable.

The report "Lifting the Smokescreen: 10 reasons to go smoke-free", the result of several recent epidemiological studies (March 2006), states that almost 80,000 deaths are caused each year by passive smoking in the European Union; of these, 7,000 are attributable to exposure to smoking at work. In the hospitality sector, passive smoking kills one person every working day.

In the European Union, of all the deaths recorded each year, non-smokers account for almost 20,000.
If you're a smoker, think of others as well as yourself!

Since the start of the 2005-2006 academic year, tobacco has become "persona non grata" in the buildings of the Alma mater: smokers are now requested to consume it "extramuros".

To live together, smokers and non-smokers alike, it's up to everyone to do their part. Above all, hostility and aggression must be avoided! A smoky non-smoker won't feel taken into consideration. And the smoker who is brutally put in his place will find it difficult to relieve the tensions that drive him to smoke.
