paroxysmal alcohol
There's no shortage of occasions for young people to have a drink (exams, weekend outings, sports, all those moments of relaxation...) and most of the time, they drink in a relational context. Alcohol is often the key to having a group of friends and also to partying, feeling less shy (lifting inhibitions), overcoming stress, letting go of pressure, and so on. Generally speaking, teenagers are sensitive to the "positive" effects of alcohol (conviviality, joy, ease of communication...) and do not feel concerned by its negative effects (risky behavior, depressogenic effect, medical complications...).
Recently, we've noticed that the aim of many young people is to drink quickly and heavily, to get drunk, to lose control and not know what they're doing..
Fortunately, the transition from occasional to repeated consumption, and then to dependence, only occurs in a minority of young people, but this one-off, excessive consumption on "Saturday nights" - the famous hangover - is the source of risks to which young people are particularly exposed today: road accidents, unprotected sex, violence and discomfort (dizziness, vomiting, loss of consciousness, alcoholic coma, etc.).
